Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Define the technical roadmap: Establish the long-term architecture vision that aligns with the company’s DeFi strategy, scalability goals, and multi-chain ambitions.
• Oversee system design: Ensure backend services, smart contracts, and user interfaces are modular, performant, and secure.
• Set engineering standards: Implement and maintain coding best practices, testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and robust review processes.
• Lead technical audits: Review high-impact modules, especially smart contracts governing user funds and liquidity operations.
• Develop core infrastructure: Build foundational systems for data backtesting, risk monitoring, and performance analytics.
• Multi-chain expansion: Maintain and evolve interoperability across major blockchain networks to extend platform capabilities.

Vault Infrastructure & DeFi Systems (Essential)

• Design, implement, and maintain vault infrastructure supporting both institutional and retail investors.
• Uphold strict security and governance standards, including periodic upgrades and external audits.
• Manage complex integrations with DeFi protocols such as lending platforms, liquidity pools, and yield optimisers.
• Architect scalable vault solutions capable of handling high transaction volumes and multi-asset liquidity flows.

Product Development & Delivery

• Translate financial models — from yield farming to lending strategies — into efficient, production-grade smart contracts.
• Partner with Product and Strategy teams to define technical specifications and roadmap priorities.
• Ensure seamless coordination between frontend, backend, and smart contract layers for consistent, reliable user experiences.
• Drive end-to-end delivery, from proof-of-concept through deployment and maintenance.

Security, Risk & Reliability

• Conduct comprehensive smart contract reviews and collaborate with external audit partners.
• Implement risk control mechanisms, including validation layers, safe arithmetic, and automated fail-safes.
• Establish a formal incident response framework to handle potential on-chain or infrastructure-related events.

Research & Innovation

• Continuously explore emerging DeFi mechanisms — such as CLMMs, perpetuals, and index products — to identify opportunities for growth.
• Investigate market inefficiencies related to fees, slippage, or capital utilisation, and propose optimisation strategies.
• Evaluate next-generation blockchain technologies, including L2s, ZK-rollups, and modular chain frameworks.
• Encourage a rapid prototyping culture, testing innovative concepts before scaling them into production.

Team Leadership & Execution

• Build, mentor, and lead a world-class engineering team, fostering collaboration, ownership, and technical excellence.
• Oversee project planning and delivery cycles, ensuring alignment with business objectives and release timelines.
• Set measurable goals, conduct performance reviews, and cultivate a continuous learning environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Technical Expertise

• Proven track record leading engineering teams within DeFi or blockchain environments.
• Deep understanding of multiple blockchain ecosystems, ideally including EVM-compatible networks and one non-EVM protocol (e.g., Sui).
• Advanced proficiency in at least one smart contract language (Solidity, Rust, or Move) and one backend language (TypeScript, Golang, or Python).
• Prior experience delivering production-ready DeFi systems such as DEXs, lending platforms, stablecoin mechanisms, or yield aggregators.
• Strong background in security-focused architecture and large-scale system design.
