As an Application Support Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing Java-based systems, acting as a bridge between clients and internal teams while ensuring high system reliability and performance in a dynamic, international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a technical bridge between internal teams and global clients to maximize system performance and value
- Translate solution designs into practical system implementations during project delivery phases
- Provide post-implementation support, including incident management and configuration changes
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues while coordinating with multiple IT teams
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and automation within the support lifecycle
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience supporting Java applications in the financial services or fintech sector
- At least 3 years of client-facing experience with strong knowledge of SQL/NoSQL and REST APIs
- Experience working in Linux/Unix environments for troubleshooting and system support
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Proactive and collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor and support team members
- Highly organized and self-driven, capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Fluent
- English: Business-level proficiency
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of PCI DSS compliance standards
- Experience with Visa or Mastercard payment processing networks
- Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure
