What your day-to-day looks like

• Prepare and consolidate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement) with accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and maintain internal financial reporting processes, controls, and compliance with global accounting standards (e.g. IFRS or GAAP).
• Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts in collaboration with leadership.
• Ensure proper accounting treatment for cryptocurrency transactions, including valuation, custody, and taxation.
• Support due diligence processes for potential investments or partnerships.
• Create and implement financial strategies to improve profitability and manage financial risk.
• Stay updated on cryptocurrency regulations and accounting trends to ensure organizational compliance.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you need to have

• 6 – 8 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in the cryptocurrency, fintech, or technology sectors.
• A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience in preparing consolidated financial statements and managing audits.
• Knowledge of financial operations of exchanges or digital wallets.
• A strong understanding of taxation, treasury management, and compliance within the fintech or crypto space.
• Proven people management experience, with a track record of leading and scaling high-performing teams while fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial software/tools.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial matters to non-financial stakeholders.

Must Haves

• Proven experience in the cryptocurrency or fintech industry.
• Familiarity with international financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS or US GAAP).
• Demonstrated ability to build and scale finance teams in a growing organization.
• A track record of improving financial systems, processes, and controls.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to crypto-specific tools and platforms.
• Prior experience working with blockchain or digital asset ecosystems.
• Familiarity with financial management tools such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or SAP.
• Understanding of crypto taxation frameworks in multiple jurisdictions.
• A passion for the crypto industry and blockchain technology.
