A global bank specializing in B2B financial infrastructure is seeking a Regulatory & AML/CFT Compliance Manager to oversee compliance frameworks, lead AML/CTF initiatives, and support strategic growth in the Japanese market. This is a pivotal opportunity to shape compliance standards while collaborating with regulators, senior leadership, and global teams during an exciting phase of expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the development and implementation of compliance and AML/CTF frameworks tailored to Japanese regulations.
• Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities (FSA, BOJ, and others), managing filings, licensing, and compliance inquiries.
• Conduct risk assessments and internal reviews to ensure adherence to local regulations and internal policies.
• Collaborate with operational teams to review escalated cases involving CDD, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity reporting.
• Provide regular updates to senior leadership and governance committees on compliance and AML/CTF matters.
• Lead the delivery of compliance training programs tailored for the Japanese market.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

• 10+ years in financial services, preferably in corporate or correspondent banking.
• At least 5 years specializing in compliance with a focus on AML/CFT.
• In-depth knowledge of banking and payments regulations in Japan.
• Proven stakeholder engagement and ability to manage relationships with regulators, senior management, and global peers.

Language Requirements

• Japanese: Native-level fluency.
• English: Business-level fluency.
