    Job Description

    Be the first hire in Japan as Country Head

    Roles/Responsibilities

    • Lead the establishment of a new office in Japan from the ground up, including setting up all operational aspects, entity and supporting necessary regulatory approvals.
    • Develop and implement strategic business plans to drive growth and achieve market penetration.
    • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, investors, and regulatory bodies.
    • Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing team to support the company’s objectives.
    • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and risks.
    • Report regularly to global stakeholders on progress, challenges, and strategic initiatives.

    Required skills

    • Proven experience in a senior leadership or senior business development role within financial-related industry, such as banking, fintech, fixed income, risk management, etc.
    • Strong understanding of the Japan financial industry and regulatory environment.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, ideally with experience liaising with global stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic business plans.
    • Native level Japanese, Business level English and experience working in Japan.
