A top-tier financial services firm is seeking a Communications Lead to drive strategic communication and media relations across the APAC region. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned communications professional to shape public perception, support senior executives, and enhance the firm’s reputation through proactive storytelling and engagement with top-tier media.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute APAC-wide communication strategies aligned with business goals
- Manage media relations, working closely with top journalists, publications, and influencers
- Support senior leadership by crafting messaging for strategic initiatives and thought leadership
- Lead the creation and distribution of press releases and external content
- Manage crisis communications and ensure consistency in corporate messaging
- Monitor and analyze media coverage, providing insights to key stakeholders
- Serve as the key communications contact for Japan
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in external communications, public relations, or media strategy
- Proven success managing multiple projects in high-pressure environments
Technical Skills:
- Deep knowledge of the APAC media landscape and strong media relationships
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level
- English: Intermediate to Business level
Soft Skills:
- Strategic thinker with high attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in financial services, fintech, data analytics, or enterprise tech
- Familiarity with crisis communication and reputation management practices
